A version of our Powder Strip for Canada
Canadian Stripper is a liquid paint stripper designed to take off powder paints. It removes a single coat of polyester paint in 10-15 minutes. Canadian Stripper is identical to our Powder Strip product we sell in the US, but it has been specially produced and labeled for the Canadian market.
It is a low hazard product that is slow evaporating, non-carcinogenic, and moderately alkaline.
Use
Canadian Stripper is used at room temperature and 100% by volume. It may be used in steel, stainless steel or polypropylene tanks. It should not be used in aluminum or galvanized tanks. Care should be taken with gasket and valve materials. Do not use PVC with this product. Periodic removal of sludge extends the life of the bath. It is safe on aluminum, zinc, magnesium, and steel. It will not take off fluorocarbons and some primers with very high epoxy content.
Advantages
Canadian Stripper is low hazard. Does not cause serious burns to the skin. It is one of the safest powder paint strippers available. A fresh tank removes most powder coats in less than 30 minutes. Over time strip times will increase. However, used tanks can be rejuvenated when the performance starts to decrease.
Disposal
This product is slightly alkaline. It must be neutralized prior to disposal. When mixed with water most of the dissolved solids fall to the bottom of the tank. The product is biodegradable after neutralization. However there may be heavy metals residues from the paint or metal that may limit the ability to discharge the material into a sanitary sewer. Certain local regulations may prevent discharge of this material. It contains no substances that are considered environmental hazards under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act.
