ZP Phos – Zinc Phosphate Conversion Coatings
ZP Phos is a family of zinc phosphate coatings designed for many different applications. Each product is specially formulated for different applications. Products are custom adapted for each customers specific needs. The ZP Phos products coatings can be a coarse coating with large visible crystals or a smooth microcrystal structure. Metal must be completely clean prior to properly prepare the metal for coating. These products can be used for wire drawing operations, heavy corrosion applications or pre-paint operations.
ZP Phos HV
ZP Phos HV deposits a very heavy conversion coating. Coating weights are 3000 to 5000 milligrams per square foot. It gives extremely good corrosion protection and good lubricity. It is easy to use. Immersion applications only. Only used on steel.
ZP Phos D1
HP Phos D1 is an immersion zinc phosphate for use prior to painting. It is a calcium-modified product. It deposits a fine micro- crystal coating. ZP Phos D1 is for immersion operations. Excellent corrosion protection is obtained with paint or a powder coating. It is a steel only product.
ZP Phos S1
ZP Phos S1 is an spray zinc phosphate for use prior to painting. Modified with calcium, it therefore deposits a fine micro- crystal coating. For spray applications only. It provides extended corrosion protection when used with a paint or a powder coating. It is a steel only product.
ZP Phos WD
ZP Phos WD deposits a heavy zinc phosphate coating very quickly. Coating weights are 1000 to 2500 milligrams per square foot. They provide good lubricity for subsequent wire drawing or stamping. The crystal structure is a medium grain but can hold lubricants such as stearates or oils.
ZP Phos Accelerator
ZP Phos Accelerator is a nitrite based accelerator that boost the coating weight in lower temperature baths. It also controls iron levels in high temperature baths.
